Tickets go on sale for the iconic 25th anniversary of PASS Data Community Summit

Redgate, the leading provider of end-to-end Database DevOps, has opened ticket sales for PASS Data Community Summit 2024. The go-to conference for data professionals to connect, share and learn with peers and industry leaders opened sales with a Launch Price discount of up to $1,000 for a limited time. This year’s in-person event will take place from November 4–8, 2024, in Seattle.

PASS Data Community Summit has been highly rated by the data community for decades, with 2024 marking the 25th anniversary of the event. Well known for equipping attendees with a huge amount of practical knowledge, 2023’s event totaled 250 hours of content and experiences delivered by 224 speakers.

As the needs of the data community grow and evolve, Redgate, the owner and organizer of PASS Summit, has expanded the scope of the event to extend beyond the traditional SQL Server audience. PASS Summit 2024 will contain a wealth of content covering the multiple database platforms data professionals are increasingly expected to support and manage.

PostgreSQL was the second biggest database of interest at last year’s conference, for example, and was the topic in 16 popular sessions, a panel discussion, and a dedicated Learning Pathway. Ryan Booz, PostgreSQL Advocate at Redgate, is looking forward to seeing this how can be expanded upon:

Discussions are already underway about how we can make the 2024 event even better. Without a doubt, we’ll see more opportunities to engage both the SQL Server and PostgreSQL communities together, and honestly, I think that makes everyone stronger in the end.

PASS Summit attendees return time and again for the quality and variety of sessions available, with 96% of last year’s attendees rating the event four out of five stars, and 98% stating they left the conference with immediately actionable information to apply to their day-to-day work.

Feedback from attendees drives the creation of each year’s agenda, with growing interest in multiple database platforms including PostgreSQL, Snowflake, MySQL and Oracle as well as challenges in managing cloud, on-premises and hybrid estates reflected in sessions planned for 2024. Underpinning the growing range of technologies covered, PASS Summit always delivers on its rich heritage and reputation for supporting SQL Server. As Grant Fritchey, Microsoft Data Platform MVP and a longtime supporter and speaker at PASS Summit, comments:

We’ve moved from focusing on one stack, on-premises, to the cloud, to other database platforms, to semi-structured and unstructured data, and to new technologies like AI. It’s difficult to keep up with that pace of change, and accessing the very latest knowledge and learning is more important than it’s ever been for data professionals.

Sponsors in 2023 included Microsoft, Intel, Amazon Web Services, Pure Storage and many more, with the Exhibition Hall at the event giving attendees the opportunity to build their networks and find new solutions for their challenges. Sponsors and the full agenda for the 2024 PASS Summit will be announced over the coming months, and sponsorship opportunities are open, with the call for speakers and the selection process well underway.

Speakers in 2023 included Shireesh Thota, Microsoft Corporate VP for Databases, Melody Zacharias, Technology Evangelist Director at Pure Storage, Ben Weissman, Microsoft Data Platform MVP and MD of Solisyon GmbH, and Bob Ward, Principal Architect for Microsoft SQL.

The 2024 conference will welcome a similarly impressive lineup of speakers in a brand new, state-of-the-art building, fittingly named Summit. Seattle Convention Centre’s newest conference venue is flooded by natural light and features beautiful design accents inspired by the Pacific Northwest.
