Database Frontiers is a new database conference hitting the spotlight come October 15th, 2025. Here’s everything you need to know.

Preface

It would be an educated guess that you spend a lot of time solving database problems – hopefully, the Simple-Talk blog helps you solve more than a couple.

At the same time, if you ask yourself or anyone around you how best to solve database problems, you will receive a couple of answers. Many of them will sound like this:

  • I use StackOverflow/StackExchange for DBAs.
  • I read articles on database performance and other sorts of things on Redgate, BreachDirectory.com, Percona, DbVisualizer, and other vendors.
  • I ask my university lecturer or my colleagues at work.
  • I read books.
  • I attend conferences, workshops, and other gatherings.

These sorts of answers are particularly interesting because they tell us that developers can rely not only on themselves and their colleagues but also on the expertise of others using readily available forums and blogs.

Aside from blogs, some other things that are readily available include conferences: some are better and some are worse, but we‘d be hard-pressed to find anyone in the database or software industries that haven‘t attended one in their career. Database Frontiers is one of those conferences.

Introducing Database Frontiers

Database Frontiers, or DBFrontiers for short, is an online database conference being organized by Vettabase and BreachDirectory.com and coming your way come October 15th, 2025. The conference can be found at DBFrontiers.net, it is organized online, and it‘s bringing the brightest minds from the database world to explore multiple database technologies and platforms – it‘s all free too. This year, you can expect the following:

  • A comprehensive look at the database ecosystem in 2025.
  • Discussions about the hottest database issues and solutions to those problems.
  • Real-world strategies for improving the performance of your SQL queries as well as achieving more in the availability or security realms.
  • Speakers exploring the internals of search engines, big data, AI in your database management systems, and more.

Find Database Frontiers at DBFrontiers.net and if you‘re interested, make sure to register today as seats are limited.

Get Involved

Registering to attend the conference isn‘t the only way to get involved in Database Frontiers: we also accept submissions to speak or sponsor the conference. Once again, the conference is free to attend, and its virtual format means that you can join from anywhere, though bear in mind that the times you see on the conference website will be in Central European Time (CET.)

You don‘t have to be a database genius to speak at the conference too – we will consider everyone. In other words, if you have something to share, please speak up! Submissions to speak are open until September 1st.

Summary

Database Frontiers is a new database conference organized by Vettabase and BreachDirectory.com and coming your way come mid-October 2025. The conference is virtual and online, and we accept submissions to speak at the conference or sponsor it too. See you in October!
